More than just a Pretty House
Oh how I love to look at before and after photos of rooms that have been redecorated by designers. You know the ones where an unsightly hodge podge of tables and chairs, patterns and textures are tackled and revamped. Or spaces that were never decorated at all, and instead are void of style and continuity, those are probably my favourite. The number of shows I have watched on this, along with articles I have read must rate in the hundreds at this point.
What has held my attention the most recently is the use of colour by professional designers in these challenges. Even in cases where the homeowners have larger than life personalities, it is not uncommon for them to waiver on the use of colour in their houses. They seem to stick with what is safe, even though what would be preferred is something unpredictable.
